After this year’s tournament, FODSD have nearly enough funds to award 20 scholarships of $1000 each to San Diego City College students. Click here to contribute and help more students.


TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS 

Eighty+ golfers teed off on August 28th in a shot-gun start at the FODSD Fourth Annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament. It was a beautiful afternoon at Coronado Golf Course! Before starting the 18-hole round, players could warm up at the golf range and fuel up with a BBQ lunch.  

Golfers received a ‘players pack’ filled with lots of snack and prizes from sponsors. Each also recieved a FOD-branded shoe bag. There were lots of opportunities during the round to stock up on snacks, buy-down strokes, and play games.

POST-TOURNAMENT PARTY

After finishing play, golfers were able to hear directly from SDCC scholarship recipients. Students shared their stories of their personal journeys and how scholarship funds are helping them achieve their education and career goals.

Golfers also enjoyed a taco dinner and a chance to visit with other players, SDCC staff, administration, and Foundation members, and hear music performed by the Geoff Corey 5.

Erika Migliori FODSD President welcomed attendees and shared information about FODSD and its mission. Aaron Rhine FODSD Golf Chair announced the winning foursome and addressed the crowd.  Over a dozen prizes were raffled off by Erica and Aaron.
