Supporting downtown San diego Seniors

Friends of Downtown collects monetary donations to fill large holiday gift bags with non-perishable food, blankets, books, socks, and toiletries for low-income homebound seniors.  We do this in partnership with Serving Seniors who deliver holiday bags, which is often the only gift these individuals will receive during the holidays.

In 2022 we again teamed up with BakerNowicki Design Studio and the Santaluz Community to fill 200 holiday bags - a 50% increase from previous years - which were delivered to seniors in our community whose needs were greater than ever. 100% of donations to this cause go directly into our community.

Our goal is to fill 250 bags this year! Help us spread holiday cheer to those who need it most!

SDCC Basic Needs Resource Center

In April of 2023, we partnered with Club Pilates and Coleman Moving Systems to collect clothing, school supplies and household items to support the San Diego City College Basic Needs Resource Center!

Students at SDCC come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Many have compelling stories about their journey earning a degree while struggling with housing, food, and financial insecurity.

The Basic Needs Resource Center is available to those who need help while pursuing their education.
