Goal: $1 Million for SDCC Students !

It’s always a pleasure to hear how San Diego City College (SDCC) students are using our scholarships to help them achieve their goals.

SDCC hosted our Annual Scholarship Luncheon on campus, and it was a beautiful day ! We’ve given more than $885,000 in scholarships to students are SDCC’s largest single scholarship donor. Our goal is to get to $1 Million very soon!

Here’s some of what our recipients had to say.

I’m a single mom of three boys aged four, six and 10. And the biggest struggle has been finances for me to be able to come back I did drop out, back in my early 20s And I was able to come back three semesters ago, and it’s been wonderful and especially the scholarships have made it whether I could stay in school or not.

My objective is to teach the Fine Arts at the community college level. The scholarship last semester enabled me to finally go out on my own and no longer have a sublet a roommate situation. I’ve got my own place. And so which gives me the freedom and space to attack my academics.

I would like to become a therapist, a family therapist. I believe that new generations of children will be the new families, and they are the base of this society. So if we focus on children, and if we raise happy children, we’ll have happy adults. I come from a broken home. So I know what it takes. I know what child feels meaning that environment.
